| Description |
Just a short journey from Cape Town, off the R27 West Coast Road, you will discover an exquisitely beautiful place called Shelley Point. Here you will find the Oystercatcher Lodge, an elegant villa literally on the beach.
All guest rooms are en-suite with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, visible from your bed. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, with private balconies, where you can see views of both the sunrise and sunset over the sea. (St. Helena Bay is one of the only three natural bays on the mainland coastlines of the world where you can see this phenomenon)
It is the venue to experience the natural beauty and simplicity of the West Coast, in style!
A sumptuous breakfast is served in the dining room, or al fresco in the summer. Other meals are available at the “Oystercatcher” Cattle Baron Restaurant, within walking distance from the lodge and owned by the hosts.
Spend some quiet hours at the pool, or in the comfortable lounge, with satellite T.V., cappuccino/espresso machine and well stocked bar.
Swiss and South African owners, Luc and Sue Christen have over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, and look forward to welcoming guests to their delightful guest lodge.
4 Star Grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa!

| Position/General |
The Oystercatcher Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the West Coast and its hinterland. Excursions to charming and picturesque little villages such as Paternoster, Elands Bay, Lamberts Bay and Langebaan are an excellent way to engage with the locals and appreciate their culture and food.
The West Coast is probably best known for its seasonal carpets of wild flowers from late July to September.
For the business executive, it is an ideal location to escape to with your team for strategic planning and leadership workshops.
The 9-hole golf course is within walking distance of the lodge.
Enjoy leisurely walks along the beautiful sandy beaches, taking care not to disturb the Black Oystercatchers who nest along the high water mark.
The Oystercatcher Lodge is perfectly positioned for watching the Southern Right Whales who mate and calve, for most of the year along these shores.
