Sommersby is a charming Edwardian house, lovingly converted into a bed & breakfast in 1995. Many of the original features remain: wooden floors, high ceilings and fireplace, which help create a 'home from home' atmosphere.
Sommersby Bed & Breakfast is a relaxed place to stay with the action you want on your doorstep.
Airport transfers can be arranged if details are provided at the time of booking. An additional charge would be charged for this service. We are approximately 20 minutes from the airport. |

We are ideally situated in the Morningside area, directly opposite the Windermere shopping centre which has an internet café, shops such as Checkers, Milady's, Clicks and also ABSA, Standard Bank and NBS branches.
The Musgrave shopping centre and CBD are only 5 minutes away. We are 2km from the main beaches, Sun Coast Casino and even closer to Greyville Racecourse, Durban Country Club and Royal Durban golf courses. Kings Park (ABSA Stadium) and Kingsmead Cricket Ground can also be reached in a few minutes by car.
Florida Road Sommersby is 'sandwiched' between Florida and Windermere Road, which provide a whole host of popular bars, restaurants and shops, literally only a short walk away.

Kingsmead Cricket Ground

Sun Coast Casino and Waterworld
Recently built and always popular the casino also has many fantastic bars and restaurants within the centre. Next door is the large water park with pools, rivers, rides and slides. Five minutes drive from Sommersby. The casino can be contacted on (031) 328 3000 and the water park on (031) 332 8885.

We have seven en-suite bedrooms all with ceiling fan, air conditioning and colour television with Mnet. All rooms are cleaned daily. Fresh towels are also provided on a daily basis. There is a communal lounge with television and hi-fi. A small, but well stocked 'honesty' bar is available 24hrs a day for your convenience. The bed and breakfast is fully walled and has electric fencing along the boundary. Secure off street parking is available. |

- All prices include breakfast and VAT. However, please note that prices quoted here may not be current and it is always best to send an enquiry to confirm dates and cost.
- Family rooms can be arranged upon request. This is a double bed with a single bed in one room and is for two adults and one child under 10 years old. This is R550 per night for the room.
